Germantown, Wis. (December 16, 2016) – Hampel receives Silver in the SPE (Society of Plastics Engineers) parts competition in the category of Heavy Gauge Innovation.
SPE Parts Competition is an annual competition through the SPE Thermoforming Division that showcases the latest in thermoforming technology and design. Awards took place at the SPE Thermoforming Conference in Schaumburg, IL and were presented in 11 categories, as well as a student parts competition.
Hampel entered the competition with the Calf-Tel Elevated Calf System (ECS). The ECS is a plastic hutch used for housing calves. Hampel’s deep-draw techniques and twin-sheet capabilities were used to create this innovative product. It was created as a plastic alternative to traditional wood housing. Many of the unique features of the ECS set it apart in how it is manufactured and how it is used in the field. A sliding roof, modular ventilation and a hinged door combined, produce a climate controlled living environment for calves and differentiates the ECS in the calf housing market.
Paul Lorge, President, “We’re genuinely excited to be recognized by the SPE with this award. This is a true testament to both our capabilities and innovative approach to taking on challenges.”
